Wholly Yours by David Crowder Band

Beautiful, beautiful song of our inadequacies and the redemption offered to us by our Savior. It brings to mind our unworthiness, shallowness and sinful selves. Yet, there is hope for in Christ we are saved. What a wonderful song to worship the Lord with. Here is the first verse:

I am full of earth
You are heaven’s worth
I am stained with dirt, prone to depravity
You are everything that is bright and clean
The antonym of me
You are divinity
But a certain sign of grace is this
From the broken earth flowers come up
Pushing through the dirt

St. Anthony of Padua

I'm sure there have been numerous stories of how St. Anthony of Padua has helped retrieve lost items. Yesterday our entire family almost lost it when we discovered that my mom's passport had been together with papers that were collected for recycling. The recylcling box was empty, having been picked up only that morning. My mom frantically looked all over the house hoping to find it and I left home from work early because I was almost a nervous wreck - for people visiting from other countries to lose their passport in the U.S. can be a harrowing experience. I arrived at home to find my mom's face all pinched and worried. I had been praying to St. Anthony on my way back so I said to him, "Please, please help me find this". I have no idea what urged me to look behind a closet. It was heavy so my mother and I pushed at it together.... and there it was, the passport.

St. Anthony's efficacy has been known to many and this is one of those but for me this was one of those incidents where I am convinced that saints are our friends in heaven. These unbelievable experiences tell me that God wants me to know it's okay, He will take care of my troubles, especially when his beloved saints request something of Him.
