Deep Enough

I have been such a fan of Chris Rice since I heard this song. He is such an amazing songwriter and he has such a beautiful voice that you can actually visualize the day dreams he sings about in this song:

Deep enough to dream in brilliant colors
I have never seen
Deep enough to join a billion people
For a wedding feast
Deep enough to reach out and touch
The face of the One who made me
And oh, the love I feel, and oh the peace
Do I ever have to wake up?

Shine Jesus Shine

Shine, Jesus, shine. Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze. Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow. Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth your word. Lord, and let there be light

Veni Sancte Spiritus

Close your eyes, shut out the world, open your heart and chant "Veni Sancte Spiritus". I promise; you will feel the Spirit coursing through your body, feel Him move and whisper through you, feel Him within you. Ah..what a glorious feeling.

If possible listen to the Taize version of this hymn; it is hypnotic. It makes you realize that this is what God intended you to do; praise Him continually. I can imagine the angels in heaven constantly chanting, 'Holy Holy' in the same fashion..oh to be able to finally see it. In the meanwhile, "Veni Sancte Spiritus"

Wholly Yours by David Crowder Band

Beautiful, beautiful song of our inadequacies and the redemption offered to us by our Savior. It brings to mind our unworthiness, shallowness and sinful selves. Yet, there is hope for in Christ we are saved. What a wonderful song to worship the Lord with. Here is the first verse:

I am full of earth
You are heaven’s worth
I am stained with dirt, prone to depravity
You are everything that is bright and clean
The antonym of me
You are divinity
But a certain sign of grace is this
From the broken earth flowers come up
Pushing through the dirt

St. Anthony of Padua

I'm sure there have been numerous stories of how St. Anthony of Padua has helped retrieve lost items. Yesterday our entire family almost lost it when we discovered that my mom's passport had been together with papers that were collected for recycling. The recylcling box was empty, having been picked up only that morning. My mom frantically looked all over the house hoping to find it and I left home from work early because I was almost a nervous wreck - for people visiting from other countries to lose their passport in the U.S. can be a harrowing experience. I arrived at home to find my mom's face all pinched and worried. I had been praying to St. Anthony on my way back so I said to him, "Please, please help me find this". I have no idea what urged me to look behind a closet. It was heavy so my mother and I pushed at it together.... and there it was, the passport.

St. Anthony's efficacy has been known to many and this is one of those but for me this was one of those incidents where I am convinced that saints are our friends in heaven. These unbelievable experiences tell me that God wants me to know it's okay, He will take care of my troubles, especially when his beloved saints request something of Him.

Quote of the Day

Those persons are tenderly affected who go to Jerusalem... but how much greater ought our tenderness be in visiting an altar on which Jesus is present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

Great is thy faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me.

I heard this song on my way to work and as always it lifted my spirit up, made me look up to the heavens, raise my hands and say "Thank you, Lord". The daily grind takes so much out of me and yet I know God deserves to be praised, thanked and worshipped. Truly, all I have needed He has provided and many times, he has given MORE!
